ABOUT ME:
My name is Krystal Cortez. I am a middle school science teacher. My inspiration for teaching has been my own children. I started home schooling my children for the second time in 2005, when my daughter and son entered high school and middle school respectively. I have taught: Middle School Math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Chemistry, Biology, and of course Middle School Science.
I discovered that finding resources for middle to upper level science and math courses was either nonexistent or too expensive for home schoolers. After much thought, I decided to make a FREE website with math and science resources. This site is a work in progress, but will contain Science and Math Course help for grades 6-12 at its full completion. Were gettin' there.....

I am also an extreme animal lover and photographer. I have 4 little Weeners. Heidi is my Original. I have raised her since she was 6 weeks old. The other 3 are all rescue babies from the
Dachshund Rescue of Houston. You can read more about my Little Weeners

The purpose of this site is to aid middle school students in achieving basic science knowledge and skills needed for classroom success by:
*familiarizing students with necessary vocabulary
*providing drill and practice
exercises related to skills
I have worked with students who struggle in math and science for many years. I believe that some of these struggles are related to a lack of
basic knowledge and skills in these subjects, and that there can be an improvement in student achievement if these basic
knowledge and skills are mastered.
NOTE TO PARENTS OF MY STUDENTS:
Science tutorials are on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 8:15a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Tutorials are also on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00p.m.-5:00p.m, by appointment should the morning schedule not work. There are NO busses provided.
If your child has lost their morning tutorial pass, please email
Krystal Cortez within 24 hours
of tutorials.
Many times parents do not know exactly how to help their child because they may not understand the concepts or they are not sure of how the teacher is teaching the material. Therefore, I encourage students with their parents to work on these help pages together.
NOTE TO ANY PARENTS OR STUDENTS:
In the navigation bar on each page is an
"Ask a Q" link. This will take you to a form for asking questions about content that is either not addressed, or needs further explanation.
